Why vote for a Libertarian?

Two Parties
The Republicans and Democrats have been in control of Congress since 1861.  What has it gained America?
  • A $500 billion unfavorable balance of trade.  We haven't had a favorable balance of trade for 40 years.
  • A crushing $20 trillion debt, $5 trillion of which is borrowed from our seniors (through the Social Security Trust Fund)
  • A federal deficit that has the potential to exceed $1 trillion this year
  • The highest and longest-running debt to GDP ratio spike since World War II
  • A federal retirement system that runs out of money in two years if contributions stop
  • 17 years of continuous entanglement in foreign wars
  • Bills that become law not based on merit, but because of the party of the author
  • Ineffective Federal Government meddling in social issues resulting in years of public distrust and civil unrest
  • A Congress that is beholden to party first, major donors and lobbyists second, constituents last, and principle never.
Is this the legacy that you want to leave to your children? Or your grandchildren?

Libertarians
For a Libertarian, it is more important to be true to party principles than to party leadership or individual donors.  Libertarians believe in:
  • fiscal responsibility
  • personal freedom
  • limited government
  • non-aggression
  • doing what is right
Three Parties are Better Than Two
I am running for Congress to represent eastern Colorado residents, not a political party's leadership and not a major donor or corporate interest.  Think about how different Congress will behave if just a few third party candidates are elected.  If neither the Democrats or Republicans have a majority, then neither party will control selection of the Speaker of the House.  The Speaker will serve at the discretion of all parties represented in Congress.  Committee chairs will be selected based on merit rather than party loyalty. House debate schedules will be set based on what is important rather than what a single party wants to control. Bills will be considered based on merit rather the sponsor's political affiliation.
Don't take away the wrong idea.  As a freshman Libertarian in Congress, I won't be a powerful member of a committee.  I won't be able to push through controversial legislation.  Maybe I'll be able to convince other Members of Congress from both major parties to sit down together and talk about how to fix things.  I will certainly be able to vote against legislation that spends money our country does not have and I will certainly be able to vote to protect your personal freedom. I won't waste taxpayer dollars or time that you paid for soliciting donations for my party. I will relentlessly pursue unconventional ideas to solve our nation's problems.
A Political Outsider
I am not a career politician, nor do I have any desire to become one.  By training and experience, I am an engineer.  To date, I have spent half of my career working for the government as a contractor.  Part of that was resident in government facilities. I have seen government contracts go way over budget and way over schedule. I have first-hand experience from both sides of the negotiating table that I can bring to Congress.
I spent the other half of my career in startups and large high tech companies. I have seen and experienced how large businesses run.  I have been a small business owner and I have experienced, first-hand, some of the challenges that small businesses face. As a small business owner, I have petitioned the Colorado state legislature for changes to make healthcare more accessible to employees of small business, and I succeeded. When I got involved, the bill I fought for was expected to be voted down in committee along party lines by a vote of 3-6.  After reaching across the aisle and working with both major parties, the bill I fought for passed by a vote of 99-1 across both houses of the Colorado General Assembly.
I am running for office because our government has problems that need immediate solutions.  Engineers are trained to find solutions to problems, not argue about them.  If you elect me, it will be my job to convince other Members of Congress that we can solve this nation's problems.
Elect A Libertarian
There is no downside.  If I were not in the race, my incumbent opponent would be elected to represent eastern Colorado.  If I am not elected, then my incumbent opponent will be elected to represent eastern Colorado. Be Libertarian with me this one time, send Bruce Griffith to Washington. What do you have to lose?

               America in 2018

Libertarian Solutions are practical -- we work diligently every day to make our little corner of the universe better. In principle and in practice, we seek to create a better, freer society for everyone. We want a system that recognizes and respects your rights as a unique individual ... that lets us live, work, play and dream in our own way.
New Economic Realities
The latest move by the Government to allow more price increases to help the economy along is intended to open a small window of relief to people that are unemployed or underemployed. The question, however, is whether more cash in the system can be stopped once it starts. This question is  important because so many people have stopped searching for work. Many are not in the system at all and will not benefit from any tax breaks or direct assistance.
New Solutions Needed
The up-is-down, down-is-up, nature of the economy in 2018 makes the same old policy recommendations irrelevant. Solutions posed by partisans (D, R and, yes, L) are missing the mark. People want to hear new solutions to their feeling of loss of economic position and opportunity due to an economy dominated by huge public and private debt and the threat of a major economic downturn.

Colorado's 4th Congressional District District

Colorado's 4th Congressional District is located in the eastern part of the state, the district encompasses most of the rural Eastern Plains as well as the larger city of Greeley, Longmont, Lamar, and Castle Rock along Colorado's Front Range in eastern Colorado.

Who We Are
Libertarians believe the answer to America’s political problems is a free market economy and a legal system that recognizes all individuals living within the borders of our nation have equal standing before the law.  We strive for a free market economy conjoined with a dedication to individual civil liberty and personal freedom and a foreign policy of non-intervention, deterrence and unrestricted trade with all nations.

America’s Future
Libertarians believe in the American heritage of liberty, responsibility and enterprise. We are dedicated to preserving this precious heritage for our children and grandchildren.

Free and Independent
Libertarians believe that being free and independent is a great way to live. We want a system which encourages all people to choose what they want from life; that lets them live, love, work, play, and dream their own way.

Caring For People
The Libertarian way is people-centered approach to politics. We believe each individual is unique. We want a system which respects the individual and allows him to discover the best within himself and develop his full potential.

Principled, Consistent
The Libertarian way is based on the ethical principle of self-ownership. Each individual has the right to control his or her own body, action, speech, and property.

Accepting
The Libertarian Party is for all who don’t want to push other people around and don’t want to be pushed around themselves. Live and let live is the Libertarian way.

Non-Aggression
